Fruit basket handmade in Brazil.

This hand made piece is produced by the Baniwa indigenous group, deep in the Amazon, alto Rio Negro.

Indigenous Artefacts work with indigenous communities in the Amazon and other areas of Brazil. Each basket is unique and completely handmade with designs and patterns embedded in each basket which are unique to each community. The baskets are made from natural fibre and each is produced in such a way that ensures its shape is kept.

Indigenous Artefacts continue to support local communities and ensure that they are paid fairly for their work. Each basket sold ensures that the tradition of basket making continues.

The woven basket can be used to display fruit or can be used for storage and even as a wall display piece. The basket has a hanging loop which can be removed if not required.

To clean this basket use a damp cloth to wipe clean.
