Installation for the NOW Gallery, Greenwich.

The Iris was a week-long installation in Greenwich which comprised of 10,000 irises suspended from the ceiling and left to dry naturally. The installation was inspired by the very location of the gallery and referenced the history of the Greenwich peninsular. Images from the exhibition can be seen at the NOW Gallery website.

Greenwich marsh

The land on which the NOW Gallery sits was once a marshy wetland which has now been tamed but still remains in the area. Law was inspired to create this exhibition whilst walking through this area, taking plants back to her studio to explore. She was inspired to represent this marshland by using the iris which is traditionally a marshland plant.
